This past Monday, I discussed in my live videos on Instagram & Facebook that I'm not perfect & have struggled with achieving goals, until I started the practice I'm about to share with you. It's not perfect by any means, but the meat of the concept is great. It is my hope that you will take these tips & tweak them, so that it will help you to achieve any goal you set out to accomplish.
Let's get into the 5 tips & goal categories!

We've all heard of the New Year, New Me goals that are set the year prior that we work to accomplishing - giving ourselves a whole 365 days to complete. This way of setting goals & working toward achievement is not a practice that I recommend or subscribe to. Mainly because it's missing some key components & I'm detailing each of them below.
Are you ready to be a smart goals, overachiever?
Number One: Your goals must be specific! I mean as specific as you can make them. Be detailed in your process of setting these goals. I want you to think about what you write down & envision them coming to fruition! You can totally do that, right?
Number Two: They need to be measurable! This means you need to give yourself a timeframe to complete this goal! I find that giving myself quarterly goals works the best.
Number Three: They need to be YOURS. These are goals you are writing down & working on for you!
Now, to recap your goals must be specific, measurable & your own.
When my family and I set goals we break them up into seven categories:
When choosing your goals you don't have to go all out & list ten or more goals for each category. Three to five goals for each is a great start. I'll give you a few suggestions if you are looking for where you should start.
Examples of goals
Your family goal could be something as simple as making sure you have one family dinner a week without electronics.
A spiritual goal could be using a bible app for a verse of the day & journaling, before opening any form of social media.
One physical goal could be at least 15 minutes of exercise activity a day ( cleaning counts).
An intellectual goal could be something as simple as listening to a podcast of a person who is where you'd like to be.
Career goals are fairly simple, if you're always late to work- one goal would be to leave in enough time to arrive early to work.
Financial goals are always fun, choose something as simple as saving $..X amount of money.
Personal goals require a little more thought. What is that thing that you used to do, but haven't done in a while because you say you don't have time. A nice weekly, uninterrupted bath? Buying & reading that book that's been sitting on your booklist? Write down exactly what it is here in that section!
**Now, because I love you guys & I'm being completely vulnerable - I have one more category.**
RELATIONAL!! Relational goals are important too. In this category I want you to add goals for those people in your life you LOVE!! Your significant other, mom, grandma, or your sister who lives in another state! I have a weekly date night with my hubby ( no kids ) listed as one of my goals.
Number Four: The second to last thing that you are going to need to accomplish these goals is accountability & that's where I come in! This next part takes place on Instagram, so make sure you're following me, here!! Don't forget to turn on post & story notifications, so you don't miss me!

Number Five: The last thing you need to make sure you're doing is to look back over your goals weekly!
