I know you all work so hard handling all the things life throws your way daily, so with that being said you deserve a hotel quality slumber every night! Who wouldn't love a good spur of the moment trip & great hotel stay where you can let go of all responsibilities & relax? I know I'm not the only one who'd love to be enveloped in scrumptious sheets, comforters & loads of pillows!

This post will touch on a question you may have asked yourself countless times. Let's say you have a small amount of money to spend, but don't want to sacrifice the feeling expensive top quality sheets can give you. Can you purchase a lower thread count and still be happy with that? My answer is, YOU are the ONLY JUDGE when it comes to what you truly like.

MAKE YOUR BED FEEL LIKE A 5 STAR HOTEL BED

It's easy to make your bed feel like a 5 star hotel bed by following these simple tips! The truth is the best 5 star hotels have a system to create that one of a kind experience for guests. To take the guess work out of it - I'm passing on knowledge and tips because KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

When in doubt, always stick to white linen! Think about it - Have you ever been to a hotel and NOT seen white sheets used? Don't worry, I'll wait.... The reason being is because white is known to represent luxury, and if you feel more luxurious you'll sleep more luxuriously. To top that off any stains are easily treated with bleach. Can you imagine the amount of stains hidden with colored bedding.

BEDDING: LUXURY BED LINENS & BEDDING SETS

When possible always go with high thread count sheets. The higher the thread count the softer the sheets are. Get 15% off your order, here. Most luxury sheets are made with cotton and pack a thread count of 300 or more. When shopping for sheets remember the higher the thread count, the better!

How many sheet sets should you stock up on? The rule I follow is based on the traditional French bridal trousseau: one set on the bed, one in the wash, and one in the linen closet. No one wants to be caught with a naked bed! If you don't want to follow that particular rule, I suggest at least two sets per bed. My three go to budget friendly choices from Walmart & Target are these wrinkle free sets, this lux Egyptian cotton set & this hotel style set. I own several sets of each of these & they are from mine & your favorite stores!

GET RID OF THE FITTED SHEETS

If you do a quick check to your hotel bed you'll notice fitted sheets are missing. Most 5 start stays don't use them? This video shows how we made our beds in the military & will teach you how to tuck in those flat sheets.

Invest in a nice down comforter with a cotton duvet. This is what we in the design world call layering. You want to add texture to your bedding & cotton is a breathable fabric; that's been a long-lasting hotel staple & the secret to a great night's sleep. I always size up on my comforter or duvet, so it completely covers the bed & adds more comfiness.

I love connecting with you guys, so make sure & tell me what you think below. Stay tuned to next weeks blog post where I share, How to Save & Travel to ANY Destination.
